Objectives

Our objective is, on the one hand, that at least 5% of our students in the 2nd year of Intermediate Training Cycles can complete their 13-week Training in Work Centers (FCTs) module in European companies each year; and on the other hand, that 3% of our basic VT students can carry out internships of between 4 and 5 weeks in European companies. Regarding the mobility of teaching staff, we have detected a greater interest in recent years in participating and that is why for this project we increased the number in the request for mobility for teaching staff. In summary, HETEL's objective for this project has been to manage, during the 2019-2020 academic year: 22 intermediate grade mobilities (in total the forecast was to manage 45 mobilities, by joining the 22 requested in this project for the 2019-2020 academic year and the 23 mobilities already granted in project 2018-1-ES01-KA102-048720 for the 2019-2020 academic year). Regarding the mobility of teaching staff, our goal was for most of the centers to participate with at least 1 mobility. Finally, and due to the difficulties generated by the pandemic, the remaining mobilities have been fully executed during the 2021-22 academic year.

Background

HETEL is a non-profit association that brings together 26 Vocational Training centers in the Basque Country. Since 1987 we have been working with commitment, with enthusiasm, with creativity and in cooperation, to improve Basque VET with the aim of contributing to the employability of our young people. That is why we set ourselves the goal of being the beacon of vocational training in the Basque Country for this year 2020. All of this together makes it necessary for our students (in turn, future workers) and teachers to promote their linguistic, technical and transversal skills and know how to handle themselves in a multicultural environment. In order to respond to this reality, HETEL has developed an integral strategic plan. This plan includes the Internationalization process, which aims to "facilitate the mobility of students and teachers from Associated Centers to other European countries and the reception of foreign students and teachers through the implementation of the actions provided for in the Course Work Plan ". Thanks to this process, HETEL contributes to the internationalization of the centers, with the aim of increasing each year the number of student and teacher mobilities of the associated centers.
