Objectives

With this project we had several objectives in mind in order to improve the skills of our students and teachers. As for the students, we wanted to broaden their work skills with international experience and introduce them to new working methods, new cultures and languages. We also wanted to give added value to the students' internships, knowing that we could increase their opportunities when looking for a job. Finally, we wanted to give them the possibility to practice new languages that can also be useful in their future professional life. As for the teaching staff, our objectives were to integrate new acquired knowledge in class to apply it and share it with our entire educational community. Carrying out a stay abroad also helps our teachers to understand new working methods and to improve the preparation of students from an international point of view. Finally, we wanted to increase the involvement and motivation of the teaching staff, since we know that it is a decisive factor when it comes to teaching.

Background

Our school, the CIFP Juníper Serra, had already applied for K102 projects in the past and we wanted to give our students the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus + program. This project was approved in 2019 and was aimed at VET students and teachers. Our school is dedicated to professional training including different professional families (automotive, tourism, administration and image and sound) and we believe that doing an internship abroad can be beneficial for students to improve their professional and personal skills. In addition, living on an island depending on tourism, we believe it is essential that students get to know new cultures and adapt to a clientele coming from different parts of the world.
