Objectives

To provide a comprehensive training that helps personal development and fosters the concept of European citizenship, while comparing pedagogical experiences with similar schools in order to identify good practices and apply them in our school. To train, update and involve the teaching staff in teaching/learning activities from the European context in order to improve the results in the local context of the school; the creation of an environment that allows the mobilities undertaken by students for placements to respond to their real objectives: development of professional competences, development of linguistic competences and development of personal competences.

Background

This project was requested and granted by the previous Erasmus coordinator in the academic year 2019-20. It was paralysed as a result of the pandemic, at which time an extension was requested, which was granted until 1/09/2022. The current coordinator has tried throughout the development of the project to follow the internationalisation trajectory of the previous projects carried out by the previous coordinator of the centre mentioned above. The project was requested to carry out: staff mobility for teaching, staff mobility for training and short-term mobilities for students of the three professional families we have in our school. These mobilities were initially to be carried out with the 4 partners already created: Mohole srl (Italy), cofap/Ifom, Ensamble Scolaire Saint Yves Sacré Coeur and Licée professionnel Les Savarières (France). Due to the fact that there is no information from the former coordinator of this project in relation to the partners obtained, their contacts and the objectives discussed with them. During the academic year 20-21 the new coordination creates an Erasmus working group to contact all the partners and to be able to carry out the project during the current academic year. From the work carried out, we managed to maintain contact with two partners: Cofap/Ifom (a school with which we have already carried out exchanges in previous years) and Scolaire Saint Yves Sacré Coeur, with which it was not complicated to continue our relations because we have teachers from the school who had carried out observation visits in a project completed in the 2018-19 academic year (2018-1-ES01-KA103-046862) and we could easily contact those in charge of Erasmus. This project could be carried out with these two schools. With the other two partners we did not get any response to continue the established relations. Important: In the same way it is agreed from the Erasmus working group and with the support of the management team, to focus the project on student mobility by increasing the number of accompanying teachers. This decision was also taken due to the pandemic situation that we have continued to address during this year and the need that we considered important for the students to give them peace of mind and security. We also had to deal with the fear that the families of the pupils expressed to us once they had been selected in January (at the height of the pandemic) to request accompaniment. This project was set up mainly to encourage the internationalisation of our school by improving the quality of training of both teachers and students. The IES La Arboleda is part of a consortium for long-term mobility (students over 18 years of age), who are eligible for financial aid offered by the consortium to carry out the FCT in participating countries. This year 2 students of Aesthetics have been selected, one from VDJ and the other from Computer Science. From this project we have worked on short-term mobilities to give the opportunity to a larger number of students who have passed the course, but for various reasons (age and lack of maturity) are not able to perform a training stay of 90 days, but they can benefit from a 10-day stay. At the same time, we seek to involve the teaching staff in European mobilities.
