Objectives

The objectives of this project have been divided into three groups: A) For students: - To improve their language skills. - To acquire knowledge, skills and competences in services, products and procedures specific to the host country in order to be able to apply them in local companies. - To carry out the Job Training (FCT) module in a foreign country to help them access the labour market. B) For teachers: - To be updated on new products and work techniques that they can transfer to their teaching activity in order to innovate and improve the quality of their teaching. C) For the foundation itself: - To initiate a network of host partners abroad in order to be able to offer mobility to our students and teachers, according to quality standards. - To achieve the internationalisation of the centre.

Background

The Ribeira Sacra, where the Belarmino Fernández Iglesias Foundation - CPR Belarmino Fernández Iglesias is located, is becoming a reference tourist destination in Galicia and the hotel and catering industry is a fundamental pillar for tourism, which is why companies are increasingly demanding more professionals with knowledge of languages and new techniques from other countries to achieve a more attractive gastronomic offer for their customers. This is one of the reasons that led us to apply for this EVT FUNDACIÓN BELARMINO FERNÁNDEZ IGLESIAS HOSTELERÍA RIBEIRA SACRA project, as we want to incorporate international training for our students into the curricula of the intermediate hotel and catering courses, enabling them to meet the demands of local companies. We also encourage them to take the FCT work experience module abroad in order to improve their language skills and to get to know other cultures. Another reason is to encourage our teaching staff to keep up to date with new techniques and procedures in the sector in other countries to help them in their teaching activities, as well as to strengthen and consolidate international relations with host partners.
