The Instituto de Educación Secundaria Politécnico Hermenegildo Lanz (IESPHL) is one of the oldest schools in Granada. It has always been linked to the avant-garde. For this reason, it decided to join the possibility of improving personal and professional competences that the European programmes entail to students and teachers. The centre is located within the city centre, in an urban population of medium/low socio-economic level, with a strong predominance of the service sector; the main objective of the centre has always been to provide its students with competences and skills that bring them, as far as possible, closer to the labour market. To achieve this, it is necessary that the centre is up to date with regard to the cultural and social situation that exists at all times, adapting to the continuous changes in society. For this reason we seek mechanisms and tools to help our students in their future immersion in the world of work, one of these tools are European projects.
