In this project, we wanted to achieve different objectives focused on the participant and our school. This opportunity has been perfect to carry out each and every one of the points we wanted to convey to all participants and teachers involved in the project, especially with a view to the internationalisation of the school. On the one hand, we wanted the students to see the importance of acquiring language skills and fluency in a second language, thanks to having contact and conversations with local people in the target country. The project develops their maturity and self-confidence because they feel more independent and capable of making decisions. In terms of job opportunities, the three students did their internships in companies with a large network of contacts due to the sector in which they work. This has improved their skills and opened new doors when applying for new jobs. The teachers involved in the project have been trained and have shown an interest in mobility abroad. This project has helped us to be a reference for other public centres, which has allowed us to make contacts and build another consortium as an organising centre.
IES Acci, decided to work together to apply for this project after finding different deficiencies in the students of the centre. The Erasmus+ programme is the EU programme that supports education, training, youth and sport in Europe, with these values and objectives that it pursues, we believed that it would bring learning and benefits to our students. It is an opportunity that, by doing a mobility abroad, offers improvement both on a professional level (technical skills and competences in their sector) and on a personal level (maturity, self-esteem, dignity, etc.). On the other hand, as an educational centre we wanted to be pioneers in the area in giving the possibility to our VET students to do their internships in another country, improving their English through a three-month linguistic immersion. Finally, through this project young people from a somewhat poor demographic area can experience living in another EU member state and take advantage of the benefits of a new culture, working environment, customs, language, getting out of their comfort zone.... Moreover, living in a locality that is far from the provincial centres, going abroad helps them to broaden their horizons.
