We intended to achieve the following objectives: 1. Improvement of our students' linguistic competences, which they usually have only a low A1 level. We tried to raise awareness and encourage students in the study of new languages. 2. Reintegration of students in the educational world and/or labour market and reduction of school failure. It was intended to encourage their permanence in the educational system so that they could finish their studies or even enrol in higher education. 4. To improve professional skills and internationalize our intermediate and basic vocational training (FP) studies. 5. To spread the culture of the different countries, the European Union work and the advantages of belonging to it by complementing our students’ qualifications previously acquired at Secondary School through the knowledge of real production processes in other countries. 6. To improve the degree of aptitudes and key competences in the different professional areas in which our students are, intensifying the cooperation between the educational system and the labour world. 7. To favour our students’ labour reintegration either in their place of origin or in the participating companies provided by our partners.
We applied for this project due to the need of internationalization of our Secondary School and offer internships in European companies to our Basic and Intermediate Vocational Training students. These internships were focused on improving the professional, linguistic and employability skills of the participants and have been carried out within the Workplace Training module and as postgraduate students. On the other hand, this project intended to encourage the permanence in the educational system of those students who were close to dropping out, obtaining very good results in this sense since 100% of the students who have participated have not only finished their studies but also they have continued on to higher levels or found a job. Finally, we also requested this project in order to empower Vocational Training and give to our the Center a greater international reach, which we have also achieved.
