Objectives

From the 2015-2016 academic year, the institute began its journey to promote internationalization in VT. The European Development Plan began with the implementation of a KA102 Project aimed at nursing auxiliary care students. From that academic year, internationalization increased, but not with projects aimed at VET students. The objectives we wanted to achieve with this project were: - Expand the internationalization of our center by offering the participation of all the professional families of the center, thus achieving equal opportunities for our students. - Improve the professional skills of our students - Increase their skills in other languages, especially in English as the most necessary language in the professional fields of students. - Increase their autonomy and personal maturity. - Increase student demand for mobility to carry out internships in companies in other EU countries. - Involve VET teachers in the management and participation in Erasmus projects. - Improvement of career guidance at European level. - Commitment to improving the professional integration of female students.

Background

Our institution is a secondary education institute in which Intermediate Training Cycles of the Professional Families of Administration and Management and Health are taught. IES Santa Aurelia is located in an area of low socioeconomic level, with few employment opportunities for its neighbors. The students of our center, in general, belong to disadvantaged backgrounds and rarely leave their neighbourhood. The institute welcomes foreign students from Morocco and Eastern Europe mainly. This KA102 project, granted for four mobilities, was aimed at carrying out internships in companies for students of Intermediate Level Vocational Training in Administrative Management and Auxiliary Nursing Care. With the execution of the project we intended to improve the social inclusion of the students, the opening to other countries and cultures, and to improve their possibilities of professional insertion. We plan to apply for the project to help promote the internationalization of our institute, proposed in our Center Plan. The current Erasmus Team had never managed a KA102 project of its own, so, advised by another institute, we decided to rely on intermediaries to help with the management.
