-Improving the English language competence of the teachers of this subject. The objective in this case would be to carry out courses that would help them to refresh their communicative competence, as well as to deepen their knowledge of cultural aspects of English-speaking countries and methodological aspects that would help them to improve the teaching of their subject in an effective way. -Improving linguistic competence in English for teachers of other subjects who wanted to improve their English linguistic competence because they wanted to be part of a KA-204 project of strategic partnerships with partners from other European countries (which we achieved in 2020, with the project 2020-1-ES01-KA204-083142). -To carry out introductory workshops in other European languages, specifically in the countries with which we were initially going to develop the KA204 project we had in mind to apply for (Italian and German). Initially we had an adult school from Austria, but finally it could not participate in the KA204 project application and was replaced by a Greek partner, so we have taken into account the introduction in the school of both the German and the Greek languages and cultures (in addition to the Italian, of course).
The reason why we applied for this project was because we thought it could be very beneficial for the school and for the educational community as a whole. Ours is a school for adults that at that time already had experience in the implementation of a European KA-104 project, carried out in 2017. It seemed relevant to us to continue promoting a European plan in the centre, focusing this time on the learning of European languages: on the one hand, English (both for teachers of English and for teachers of other subjects who would use it to participate in KA-204 projects of strategic partnerships). On the other hand, we wanted to focus on the learning of other European languages, especially those related to countries with which we had established contact as partners. Overall, the main motivation behind the project was to raise awareness of the richness of the European continent, especially on a linguistic level, and to promote the Europeanist spirit, both on a theoretical and practical level, through active participation in a KA-204 Strategic Partnerships project that we had in mind to apply for (which we finally did, obtaining a positive response in 2020).
