Objectives

The main objective of our participation in this project is to continue working on the internationalization of IES La Flota, and to continue the projects that have already been carried out in our institute. On the one hand, the project, aimed at students in the 2nd year of Intermediate Training Cycles, has allowed them to carry out mobility for internships in European companies for 90 days, which can be validated with the "Training in Work Centers" module, an integral part of the cycle study plan, necessary to achieve the "Technician" degree. In addition, for the 2nd consecutive year, we have Erasmus + mobilities in the field of staff, which has allowed them to expand their knowledge of ways of working in the field of European companies and centers, thus enriching the productive function in the center. The development of this project raises other secondary objectives such as; achieve a better inclusion of the European dimension in the life of the educational center, its internationalization and the enrichment of the sense of community, through knowledge of new realities and cultures. As the number of students and staff who are trained in European companies increases, the impact of this training on the members of the educational community of our center, and on society in general, is clear. On the one hand, the students of our center see their employability possibilities increased by improving their linguistic, social and productive skills by receiving comprehensive training in a European productive environment, On the other hand, the staff of our institution acquires updated training that allows them to learn about new and different ways of working that will make it easier for them to broaden their vision of all those tasks that they carry out on a daily basis in their teaching work, carrying out a necessary and very important update. that will allow them to act with greater competitiveness in the development of their functions. Carrying out these mobilities not only favors the beneficiaries of the same in a direct way, but also the rest of the members of the educational community to whom the benefits of these training actions are sent, through the established dissemination actions. in Europe, thus allowing the knowledge acquired by the beneficiaries of the mobilities to be known by all. The rest of the staff of our institution will be impregnated with the knowledge acquired by their colleagues and will be able to apply it in their productive activity, and in addition, they will see the benefits that carrying out this type of mobility has for their work, encouraging them to carry out these training actions in the future. next. But not only them, the students, both real and potential, will be aware of the usefulness that training in Europe has for their professional and personal future, and the added value that it plays in their comprehensive training. Said added value is extensible to the teachings given in our institution, since to the training received in the educational center it is possible to add that received in the host institutions with which we work and that collaborate in a current, modern and complete training of our students. . The situation caused by Covid 19 put the planned mobilities in check, having to interrupt or not start any of them, but finally, after requesting an extension in the duration of the project, all of them could be carried out. A mobility of personnel, Job Shadowing, was carried out to Malta by Ana Belén Andreu, professor of the Vocational Training Technical faculty of the specialty of Restoration Services, of the Professional Family of "Hospitality and Tourism". The duration of the mobility was 5 days and its objective was to learn about the operation of the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Luga, The Institute of Tourism Studies as well as two companies in the city, a restaurant and a winery. A planning visit was made to Metz, to the Mercure Metz Center Hotel, in order to plan the arrival of one of our students at this French hotel with which we have subsequently continued to work. Regarding the mobilities for student internships, a total of 7 mobilities were registered, of which 2 were interrupted by Covid 19, 2 could not be started due to the pandemic and 3 were carried out entirely by applicant students. Subsequently, the students who were initially going to carry out the mobility gave it up for different reasons. The students belonged to the Cycles of Cooking and Gastronomy and Restoration Services of the Professional Family of Hospitality and Tourism, as well as the Cycle of Bakery, Pastry and Confectionery of the Professional Family of Food Industries. Of the students participating in the completed mobilities, one of them was a postgraduate and the rest were 2nd year students.

Background

The request for this project was made to give continuity to the internationalization process that has been taking place in our center for more than a decade and that allows our staff and students to acquire, among others, professional, cultural and linguistic skills derived from the unique opportunity to train in European workplaces, and that represents an added value for our institute, its entire educational community as well as the surrounding society.
