Background

The project is aligned, through a new methodological approach applied to VET, with the conclusions of the study "Mapping of Cultural Heritage actions in European Union policies, programs and activities", DG of Culture of the EC and the needs to promote training actions in accordance with COM/2014/0477 final, "Towards an integrated approach to cultural heritage for Europe". This new approach seeks, along with the acquisition of professional skills, to promote the value of cultural heritage and the defense of social values, including the environment, among young people. The promoter and the Ministry for Environment developed the LIFE STARS+20 project incorporating environmental sustainability in tourist resources such as the Camino de Santiago, the first European cultural itinerary (Council of Europe) and World Heritage Site (Unesco), whose results are of great pedagogical and social interest for an innovative approach applied to VET from the learning and service methodology.
