Educational innovation is the best way to deal with 2 of the great European problems: unemployment and social exclusion. Our partners have COMPLEMENTARY CONTEXTS. The Spanish University. de Oviedo (coordinator) is located in areas with a high unemployment rate. In a similar way it happens in Italy where the partner CPIA (Provincial Center for Adult Education) works. On the contrary, the Finnish partner has 7% unemployed people and the Polish partner 3%. These north-south differences provide a contrast of scenarios and solutions to the aforementioned problems. In addition, an important partner participated: the ADMINISTRATION of the CONSEJERÍA DE Castilla y León (2.5 million inhabitants). All these members work in adult education, training for employment. And their educational action has a high impact and social diffusion. In addition, the project benefits from extensive existing networks and links with other institutions. The project worked on the EUROPEAN NEEDS and PRIORITIES: improve the training of teachers who teach disadvantaged adults, to get a job. These teachers learned for 3 years (09/01/2019 to 08/31/2022) the best 30 training experiences for employment. They will then implement these innovative methodologies in their educational settings. In addition, the participants learned about the European educational and cultural heritage (democratic system, law, history...) as a way of social integration. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES ACHIEVED: -TO SHOW/KNOW the best models to follow in educational planning and teaching vulnerable adults in each country, in order to implement these INNOVATIONS SYSTEMATICALLY in our institutions. Indirectly we also got: -Training in specific transversal skills for job search from the perspective of each country. -Strengthen a European space and culture that feeds coexistence. All PARTICIPANTS worked with populations at risk of poverty or social exclusion in each setting. 50 teachers were directly benefited with economic support for travel. And indirectly we worked with some 200 people involved. In addition, these participants are people with experience or interest in outreach work with the media and social networks. In addition, the effect is high when counting the STUDENTS who will later automatically receive direct training from the participants in the project. For example, the University of Oviedo has 500 adult students enrolled in the PUMUO program, and 2,500 students from the Superior School of Teaching (future teachers at different levels). The CPIA-Padua has more than 2,500 adult students. The CyL administration has 83,000 students and 25,000 CEPAs students respectively. The Polish partner has 1,800 professional students and the Finnish partner has 2,600 students. ACTIVITIES AND RESULTS: The results are detailed in the final report (516 pages) that we ask you to read in depth. This information is summarized at http://www.unioviedo.es/aei/ -Select (30) innovative and effective role models on educational design and adult learning. All these experiences (30) have been visited in each country. -5 weeks of short joint training, and 5 transnational meetings. -Generate guidelines for the institutionalization of these innovations and the systematization of reference models, achieving sustainability: incorporation of innovations in educational projects, creation of informative documents disseminated on social networks, creation of documents with scientific recognition on adult education. -Carrying out a free EVENT International Conference https://www.unioviedo.es/cylaei/ The II International Congress on Adult Education for Employment and Inclusion – CyLAEI -To learn about innovative models for the management/promotion of the European socio-educational heritage Dissemination of results: >PUBLICATIONS (scientific, academic and informative) >Production of various audiovisual documents. >Educational material (educational projects for employment, etc.) >Creation of a WEBSITE http://www.unioviedo.es/aei/ and social networks METHODOLOGY followed. The procedure has followed the path of R+D+I projects: INVESTIGATE EDUCATIONAL MODELS + ANALYZE THEIR ESSENTIAL INNOVATIONS + SHOW-COLLECT TRANSFERABLE CHARACTERISTICS + DISSEMINATE THESE STRENGTHS + IMPLEMENT EDUCATIONAL ACTIONS AND POLICIES IN EACH CONTEXT. The project focused on the training action on teachers, focusing on the vision of real successful experiences and debating with their real protagonists. 30 scenarios were visited to learn about successful teaching models, REAL SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS, and to see: places and didactic materials, methodologies, meetings with protagonists. Attendees will reproduce these innovations in their teaching practices. The visits make it possible to disseminate these experiences to society, and incorporate these models to follow in educational policies, course design, etc. It also allows the scientific community to describe experiences through HIGH IMPACT publications (examples: DOI: https://doi.org/10.3390/su141711006. DOI: https://doi.org/10.1080/02660830.2023.2166740) IMPACT AND BENEFITS The effects of the project will last a long time since many INNOVATIVE references are being implemented by the teachers involved. Annually this impact will be repeated in all their students (a minimum of 2000 students each year). These educational actions are effective in the LONG TERM and the FINAL goals will lead us to an increase in the LEVEL OF EMPLOYMENT and SOCIAL INCLUSION of vulnerable people. We have held an INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE free of charge. This is an exceptional circumstance with a high impact both on face-to-face participants (200) and on those who follow it on the networks (several thousand). The proceedings are currently being edited (ISBN: 978-84-18482-58-8. DOI:10.6084/m9.figshare.21158698).
The objectives are some of those set for Erasmus by the European Commission, that is, through education we would improve social inclusion and the construction of cohesive societies, in 3 keys: aging and migration, employment and sustainable development. General objective: address unemployment and social exclusion from the educational field, considering the knowledge of European cultural heritage as an important element. Specific objectives: - Select and show the best models and activities to follow in educational planning and teaching of vulnerable adults. - Provide educational referrals on how to find work. - Collect and systematically transfer these innovations in the respective educational centers and other institutions. - Implement courses, activities and educational material in our centers and other institutions; - Evaluate, systematize and disseminate the results to society, experts in adult education and the scientific community in general. Long-term: - Achieve employment in students, through the application of specific effective methodologies. As an after effect, social inclusion would be improved.
1.This project has its origin in the previous experience of the coordinator (Javier Fombona) as head of Erasmus at the University of Oviedo. This made it possible to learn about the ERASMUS program in all its dimensions (mobility, construction of the European Union, support for educational actions from an international perspective, etc.) as well as the project partners. 2.Training as a teacher at many educational levels provided the necessary background to address actions from an educational perspective. His specific university experience makes him work with the protocols and scientific rigor necessary to undertake research work, both financially and with a large number of participants. 3.Membership in the ZINTAC research group has contributed to laying the scientific foundations supported by a team of prestigious researchers. On the other hand, the high level of unemployment in Europe was a necessity that prompted us to explore new ways to solve this problem. This background and the previous coordination of other projects encouraged us to approach this project as an opportunity to demonstrate our possibilities and educational actions aimed at students in search of employment, as well as our training activity for future teachers.
