Project summary

The project K2 Erasmus + "Clean World" has as its main objective the internationalization of our students, the awareness of a clean, sosteinable world, an openness to cultures and lifestyles, different from ours, to foster the tolerance, equality and social inclusion and the exchange of innovative resources and methodologies between the teachers involve For these reasons we have chosen the following horizontal priority: - Supporting individuals in acquiring and developing basic skills and key competences And as school priorities: - Energy and resources - Environment and weather change - Citizen participation / Responsible citizenship. Moreover, we consider this project as a process of learning for the whole institution (teachers, students and families). The participants in our schools have to take the opportunity of growing personally and professionally as a consequence of the participation in the project Erasmus+ KA2. The preparation, implementation and assessesment of our project of European mobilities, and the dissemination of our results, will make students aware of the neccessity of caring for our environment, seeking the global sostenaibility, being part of an united Europe and developing their key competences. It is a project for 24 months, which will be carried out by the Sciences and Foreign Languages departments and we will have 4 mobilities for teachers and students. Our strategic Plan will have activities before, during and after the mobilities. There is a clear relationship between the necessities of our school with regards to the European and collaboration awareness and the activities shown in this project with reference to some issues: curriculum, European dimension, management competences, both, students and teachers ' linguistic competences, the new teaching methods or innovating tools and the organization of teaching and learning. Our aim is to achieve the following outcomes after the mobilities: -Their immersion in the cultural dailylife to improve the understanding and use of English as a lingua franca for an effective communication. -The awareness of a better and sustainable world with the cooperative work in teams will let us show our students a complete vision of new resources - The participation in collaborative learning intercultural projects will help us to adopt new methodologies based on projects research to encourage our students to compare our own culture and lifestyle with the other European countries and the European culture in general. - The participants will have the option of sharing materials, which will be part of a bank of resources for the other partners at school, very useful for the preparation of didactic sequences. - The relationship with the European teachers who participate in the project and the link of our students and European students will help us share examples of good practices and will proportionate an European dimension to the Secondary stage in our institution. Finally, we intend some key learning outcomes, within the strategic frame of the school about quality and internationalization to improve our teaching practice.

Final report summary

As highlighted in the initial section, this project K2 Erasmus + "A Clean World" has had as main objective the internationalization of our students, the awareness of a clean and sustainable world, an opening to cultures and lifestyles different from ours, to promote tolerance, equality and social inclusion as well as the exchange of innovative resources and methodology between the different teachers involved. This is why, at the time of application, we set the horizontal priority of supporting individuals to acquire and develop basic skills and key competences and as a school priority the use and rationalization of energy and resources, environment and climate change and citizen participation / responsible citizenship. We considered and understood that this was a project that would affect both institutions as a whole, that this project would be a learning process for the entire educational community (teachers, students, families, etc.). This project was born as a result of a partnership through the Etwinning platform. This platform allowed us to agree on the objectives we wanted to achieve, on the lines of action we were going to mark, methodology used, schedule of activities and evaluation of them. Contacts started on the platform mentioned in 2018 and continued until the time of the official application in 2019. Everything was arranged by videoconferences between the coordinators of the two schools. This 24-month project was forced to extend due to COVID for another year and involved the science and foreign language departments of both high schools and allowed the realization of 4 short duration mobilities for teachers and students. The profile of the participants involved was that of second and third year ESO students aged between 13 and 15 from families with low-middle living standars levels. We therefore believe that, without Erasmus grants, it would have been difficult for them to travel. The accompanying teachers (2 from each high school who were participating in each mobility) belonged to the departments of Science (Biology, Chemistry and Technology) and Foreign Languages (English). The activities developed in the mobilities focused on creating science projects using the Etwinning platform, blogs, making soap using recycled materials, placing litter bins for the selective collection of waste and the collection and subsequent study of this waste in different areas of the towns, both in Germany and in Spain, and exchanging plastic bottles for other recycled materials, awareness activities on sustainable fashion with workshops (Green Fashion Workshop), editing and making videos, collaboration with NGOs, development of the logo and slogan of the project, cultural visits related to the project (Doñana, Torre TV in Potsdam, recycling companies,...) and of course virtual activities because of the pandemic. We have achieved the following results after the mobilities: 1. Improvement of the language skills of the students: thanks to the students’ coexistence in families, as a result of these mobilities, the use of English as a lingua franca for effective communication and immersion in everyday cultural life in each country. This result derives to an equally important one: improving the European dimension of schools and of all those involved in the project (parents, pupils, teachers and collaborating companies) 2. To make students aware of the possibility of a better and sustainable world and the viability of cooperative work. 3. Research projects: participation in collaborative projects with the use of research-based methodologies (selective garbage collection, manufacture of bags with recycled materials or the manufacture of soap with waste oils). 4. Creation of a bank of didactic resources to share with other colleagues in the two educational high schools involved and extremely useful for the preparation of lesson plans in the subject of science have been developed and taught in both schools. 5. Generation of new European contacts enabling the network of European contacts to be extended for future joint ventures. One of the benefits that we have seen today of all the work that has been done is that we have already begun to establish a new school project of family immersion for students of the two schools with the topic of "Digitalisation" as its backbone.
