We are a group of 4 partners from Lithuania, Belgium, Latvia and Spain, all interested in developing the European identity in our students , families and local community and improving our educational practices . We will do it through the knowledge of our artistic heritage and its peculiarity and going in deepth in the knowledge of important artists from other countries and their work (E.Patmainiece , R.Magritte, Gaudí and M.K.Ciurlionis ). It can help our students to value much more the European cultural heritage and achieve that all them be involved in its respect, safeguard and conservation. The different profiles of our schools and their staff can contribute to achieve other important goals as our students´improvement of English and digital competences and the social inclusion. It should be noted that expertises in cooperative learning of Spain, the use of CLIL of Spain and Latvia, the use of E-twinning of Latvia and Lithuania and the work of Art of Lithuania and Belgium can help to achieve the planned objectives . The fact that Latvia, Belgian and Lithuanian schools didn´t participate in an European granded project before improves our partnership´s motivation. All our students from 3 to 12 years old will participate organized in 4 different work blocks : block 1with all students from 3 to 6 years old, block 2 with students of 6/7 y.o , block 3 with students of 8/9 y.o and block 4 with students from 10 to 12 . Each block will exchange proposals on activities with their corresponding partners block. These activities will be related to the artists´life, their work, artistic movements they belonged to and the implementation of some of their artistics techniques . Some of the plastic resulting works will be displayed in a travelling exhibition that will take place at the end of the project in the different partner countries. In addition, students who will participate in mobilities will carry out a research in the different partners municipalities to know the inhabitants´ knowledge of the worked artists and their works , and the citizens´oppinion about the European heritage conservation. With the participation in this project we want to develop the students´creativity through the representation of the imaginary, emotional and social world. They will develope more creative , critical attitude and the way of seeing and interpreting the world and it will contribute to improve their personal development. The exchange of methodologies ,the knowledge of European cultural heritage, the implementation of different artistic techniques through cooperative work and the use of English and ICT will favour the integration of knowledge, abilities and attitudes in our students and the acquisition of new educational practices in our teachers. We think the most important impact with our participation is that our students, teachers and families rais awareness of the need of attaining fluency in English and ICT, our schools will have created links in order to continue exchanging experiences or designing new projects through Etwinning tools and our schools will have acquired more experience in projects participation and their internationalization.
We are a partnership of 4 countries ,Belgium, Latvia, Lithuania and Spain, that have participated in the project « Little gazes at great artwork» during 3 years with the final objective to know and respect Europe’ s artistic heritage. Through the knowledge of significant artists from our countries ( R.Magritte/Belgium, E.Patmalniece/Latvia, M.K.Ciurlionis/Lithuania and A.Gaudí/Spain )our educational communities increased their sense of belonging to Europe, the artistic heritage value and the need to safeguard it as source of information about our historical and cultural past. The continued use of English and new technologies has facilitated the knowledge and exchange of our educational practices and the achievement of the foreseen objectives such as social cohesion, the improvement of linguistic and digital competences , the creativity work and critical thinking through the artistic work. All our students in Pre-school and Primary participated in the project in different work groups: block 1( 3 to 5 y.o),block 2 (6-7 y.o),block 3(8-9 y.o) and block 4(10 to 12 y.o).The worked artists were the same in all blocks, but the activities were adapted to the different age’s interest and ability. We used cooperative learning in group works (Spanish proposal), CLIL methodology ( Latvian and Spanish proposal), eTwinning platform (leadered by Lithuania and Latvia) and Belgian experience in plastic and digital works. We had a first meeting in Spain to join in a staff training about eTwinning platform and we took advance of it to check the project and talk about project’s organization .After the training we decided to meet together again in Belgium ( central point) to prepare the different mobility in each country ( annex 5).There we had the opportunity to meet with the Belgian educational institution. This second meeting was financed with the management item. We did 4 virtual mobility (1 in every country)because of the health situation (COVID)which allowed all students and teachers in block 4 participation. The execution of some outdoor activities were also conditioned by COVID and they were replaced by other carried out in the school setting. All activities done by the different students block , both by hand or virtual way , were collected on big posters which were sent to all countries to be used in the different schools’ final exhibitions. Also in our project website can be seen handicrafts and technological works made by the students as pictures and clothes painted in the different artists’ style, mosaics, stained glass windows, chimneys, videos, CANVAS,performances in English, letters of introduction, travelling suitcases, logo contest, T-shirts with Erasmus logo, musical auditions of M.K.Ciurlionis, Kahoots….To this should be added oral and written presentations and Christmas postcards between students through e-mails, videos, and snail-mail during the project.Among other forms of dissemination a project website has been designed, we used eTwinning platform, the Platform Results , local media and Twitter. Families, teachers and local administrations contribution have been very important in the project implementation.
