Objectives

We and our partners, can observe daily situations of discrimination towards people with disabilities or special needs (people with D/SN); and according to Eurostat data "one out of every six people in the European Union (EU) has a disability". When a person is affected by a disability, it suffers a strong emotional impact, which requires acceptance of the situation, and to adapt a new lifestyle different what it was used to. The feelings of these people tend to be frustration and stress, which is aggravated by the marginalization what they suffer at times, for shame and compassion, which diminishes their freedoms. Sports and physical activity can develop a feeling of freedom for people with D/SN and allow a manifestation of the infinity of emotions what they need to show, such as: anger, confusion, anguish, disappointment or frustration among others, as well as the fear or the joy of others. Facing new situations to experiment. Therefore, the sport can be a very useful tool, available to everyone. "The magic glasses" pretend to make participants understand, through the practice and study of eight adapted sports (basketball on chair, adapted handball, athletics, goalball, adapted indoor soccer, boccia, floor volleyball and slalom), that the Sport practiced by the population with D/SN also has an educational function and is necessary. We can use physical activity as a means of learning, not only physical skills but also psychological, improving the autonomy of people with D/SN and facilitating their social integration. As general objectives of the project we propose: o Sensitize about disability o Promote the inclusion of people with disabilities and special needs o Give access to sports for disadvantaged groups These are specified in: o Know the real abilities and limitations of a person with D/SN o Experience aspects of the daily life of a person with D/SN o Practice and analyze eight adapted sports o Awakening interest in adapted sports and their competition o Give visibility to adapted sports entities o Improve the skills of the participants facilitating their interaction with people with D/SN o Promote dialogues and experiences among young participants from different countries The achievement of each of these objectives individually, is a small piece that is linked to major objectives such as the Erasmus + program, mainly: o Promote social inclusion, tolerance and equity o Increase understanding and capacity to respond to diversity o Most active participation in society o Improve foreign language skills
