EU Citizenship, EU awareness and DemocracyCultural heritage/European Year of Cultural Heritage

Objectives

We want to implement this project because we see that young people in our countries (Spain and Poland) want to be more integrated into the reality of Europe. A reality that is strongly marked by the integration with other communities different in race, religion and way of life. Working in Building the future can be very positive in our formation to promote among us the intercultural and interreligious dialogue and improve attitudes that help us open ourselves to those who come from abroad in search of asylum. Although the European Year of Cultural Heritage has ended, we think that this heritage is there present and we all have to use the opportunity to get to know it closely, to appreciate it and reinforce the feeling of belonging to a common European area, aware that cultural heritage as well as being a legacy of the past, helps us to forge the way forward and design our future. We believe it is fundamental for exchanges between Europe and the rest of the world. The objectives of the project are: • Better knowledge of our historical past: what we have in common and what differentiates us. Knowledge of different realities existing in the EU • Value more the artistic and cultural reachness of our countries, deepen our customs and traditions while having the opportunity to share it with the young people from the other country. • Increase the awareness of our European identity and the feeling of belonging to it, what is a consequence of the above mentioned aspects. • Eliminate prejudices that can separate us from young people. Promote understanding, tolerance and respect for the freedom of others. Via development of the program of activities planned for mobility (debates, workshops, brainstorming, etc.) we will share our ideas, contribute knowledge from our respective countries about culture, traditions, etc. and we will learn from each other, developing new skills and raising awareness about the social issues that concern each of the two countries. In addition, as we anticipate that the participants will be of different ages (between the last years of school and recently finished higher education) this will give us the opportunity to have generational debates, on how to open the way with current unemployment, criteria for choosing the career or studies after finishing a school, etc ...
