In this training project we want to address, with the participants, the main causes of euroscepticism and of intolerant, xenophobic and racist trends that attack the coexistence in Europe. Europe generates nowadays, in the best-case scenario, a generalized indifference among the citizens. And this is the first step to the firm rejection to its institutions and what they represent. We believe that, over these years in which different European youth programs have been developed, it has been neglected to explain the reason of these programs and their origin, that are clearly linked to the reasons that lead to the creation of European Union. Thus, there are many young people that have been benefited from the projects during the last decades, but that do not know the reason of these programs and the importance of taking care socially of our European Union, trying to modify its defects and improving it day by day, but without destroying our coexistence and the European values. Besides, we take the blame and we believe that the society and its institutions have neglected to emphasize European Union history, as the big historical miracle that we owe peace between our countries; the freedom to travel within borders that can divide us; the protection of our freedoms, increasingly strong, thanks to the European Court of Justice, etc. The European cooperation and integration were designed to maintain the fragile peace that was created after the Second World War. The social European Union success has achieved a long period of peace that must be preserved and guaranteed in the future. With the current movements that attack the European Union and the models of coexistence based on interculturality, tolerance and non-racism, we believe that it is necessary to remain to our young people the origin of Europe, in order to avoid the same mistakes as in past centuries and to promote the European values that guarantee a model of society based on respect, interculutrality, peace and transnational cooperation. The theme of the training course and the challenges that it wants to address are clearly linked to the objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme. OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING COURSE “THE BEGIN OF EUROPE” - Address the historical origins of the European Union and the Council of Europe, promoting the European values, the education for the peace, the cooperation, the intercultural education and the education on human rights to train workers in the field of youth that can include in their work with young people this view and perspective of the begin of Europe. - Emphasize the intercultural learning methods of the non-formal education and informal learning as tools for identifying concepts and the reality in Europe and for the development of solutions to problems related with xenophobic and racism. - Provide educational tools from the field of formal education to youth workers who participate in training to educate in European values and in Human Rights. - Promote tolerance among youth and contribute to the social cohesion, particularly fighting the exclusion and preventing the discrimination phenomena that affect specially to youth. - Improve the quality of the support systems for the youth activities and the capacities of the social organizations in the field of youth. - Interrelate organizations and people that work with youth in different countries and help them to develop strategies for mutual understanding and for respect to the human rights and the social and cultural differences. - Help the participants to improve the quality of the work with youth in general, in a local and European context. - Carry out an action in the local community to make the Erasmus Plus Program visible and to promote the participation on it, such as it was agreed on the conclusions of the project AMBASSADORS PLUS, carried out by Auryn Association in 2016 and that gave rise to the European Net AMBASSADORS PLUS.
