Objectives

The participating organisations, the decision-makers and the participants wish to carry out this project for the following reasons: Several of the participants in the project have told us that a large part of the youth (including themselves) are unaware of the stories and histories of the childhoods of their parents and grandparents. Several of these stories are composed of large doses of popular knowledge and a strong cultural component. The young people do not only want to rediscover these stories and histories, but to share them with other participants from other countries and regions, thus generating an intense multicultural atmosphere, a hallmark of what is Europe today. Therefore, the first objective is: TO REDiscover EUROPEAN MULTICULTURALITY THROUGH YOUR ACCOUNTS. Participants want to prevent these stories from getting lost. For this reason, one of the objectives of the project is the group elaboration of a story book. This book will include a total of 24 stories (4 per country) with their respective illustrations. The book will be available in 7 different languages (the 6 languages of the project countries and in English), this book will have a free creative commons license and can be downloaded for free from the Internet. The program of activities includes several workshops where this book is elaborated. In addition, several representations of these stories will be made in the local communities of the participants (with the help of org. partners and city councils) and in a children's hospital in Madrid. The second objective being: THE ELABORATION AND DISSEMINATION OF AN ILLUSTRATED BOOK WITH VARIOUS EUROPEAN ACCOUNTS. Participants want to acquire creative skills (writing, drawing), digital skills (computer drawing, layout), as well as social skills (teamwork, conflict resolution, leadership...). During the activity there are several workshops on creative writing, drawing, etc. (what is necessary for the elaboration of the story book). Each national group of participants is responsible for a part of the activities (it is detailed in the program of activities and in the previous tasks of the participant). The participants will work in groups during the whole project, leading to the development of several "soft skills". All these skills are very important in today's labour market, as they are transversal skills. Young people value this very much and want to acquire them. Therefore the third and final objective is: TO GIVE THE PARTICIPANTS CREATIVE, DIGITAL AND SOCIAL SKILLS.
