ART Together is an action-oriented project that aims to support young people that are facing difficult situation in their life in order to connect them to their local communities through art. We are a group of 6 friends who decided to write this project together out of our need to have an international space to exchange different artistic forms, learn from each other and out of this get inspired and make meaningful actions. We met in a Youth Exchange Art in Motion and it was a great boost for us to create ART Together and bring the project on another level. We want to do a YE during which concrete creative actions (performance for good cause, artspace (re)creation etc.) are taken within Las Palmas community. We strongly believe that working together towards a meaningful goal and leaving positive footprint on the island will support the participants to take ownership of their learning and results of the YE. Moreover they will be empowered to include themselves and others in their local community and beyond by creating similar actions and taking more initiatives. We want to carry out this project because we, as members of our organizations, do activities that help young people that are facing social exclusion in everyday interactions, having lack of motivation and initiatives as well as low self-respect. What we experienced is that people who feel disconnected from their local communities tend to withdraw and create hazardous behavioral patterns (using drugs, leaving school..). Moreover, we see that problems of having fewer opportunities are often discussed in a formal setting where young people are the core but not present. What we see that can bring a shift in this situation is that youngsters are running the whole project by themselves and the topic is approached through non-formal learning. Our intention is to connect with local based initiatives and communities, organizations, cultural centres, after school programs etc. By creating own art projects, young people can bring positive impact on their community and grow as individuals and European citizens. Art as a tool stimulates learning for everyone because it is basic, simple, creative, universally understandable and works for everybody beyond any limitation of language, disability, education level, race. The objectives of the project are: -To bring together 35 young people, while making sure that 80% of the group is with fewer opportunities. -The 35 participants to carry out the activities throughout the whole YE: art workshops, performances, educational games and outdoor activities. - The 35 participants to cooperate with locals and make a concrete action (performance for good cause, artspace (re)creation etc.) that will sustain on the island and interact with approximately 800 local people - The 35 participants to develop the following competencies: intercultural cooperation and teamwork, verbal and nonverbal communication, organizing, sense of initiative, learning to learn and media, art and self-expression, supervising, leadership, - The 35 participants to create and disseminate 4 media materials (local newspaper articles, videos, photos stories, blog posts, radio/tv interview etc) as tangible results of the YE - The participants in their national team and in cooperation with their organization to implement at least one dissemination activity such as workshop, video presentation, performance, art installation, article etc - The 35 participants to assess their learning process through the 3 Youth-pass sessions, 10 support group meetings, and 3 national group meetings - The 35 participants to be introduced the E+ possibilities - To ensure that evaluation happens during the whole project timeline, through 35 Youth-passes, 35 questionnaires (1/participant) and 6 evaluation forms (1/ partner)
