The training course "Cooperate and Escape" will be held in Barcelona during 14-22.07.2019, and will bring together 26 participants from Spain, Estonia, Czech Republic, UK, France, Romania, Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey and Moldova. The training is designed using non-formal learning and learning by doing approach and will involve participants in discovering the topic based on theoretical examples and applying newly gained tools directly with the local community as well as with own communities after the main activity. Based on years of working in the formal and non-formal learning environments, observing attitudes of young people, analyzing needs of the job market and being part of the educational system from various angles, we identify a true need of soft skill development of young people and soft skill promotion among the society. Doing this through an innovative and engaging methodology of escape quests and outdoor quests is worth discovering and promoting. Through such experimentation "Cooperate and Escape" was born as an international training course. The training course aims to provide youth workers and youth leader with tools, frameworks and space to create and playtest educational portable quest rooms and outdoor quests that foster soft skill development in young people. We formulated the following objectives of the project: - To exchange practices and methods of soft skill development through youth organizational activities; - To introduce the concept of POEQ as a methodology for developing soft skills of young people; - To equip participants with tools and frameworks for developing educational POEQ games; - To train participants in debriefing educational game activities and triggering self-assessment in young people; - To provide space for designing and testing educational portable and outdoor escape quests; - To create a set of educational POEQ games that foster soft skill development in young people; - To empower youth workers/youth leaders to use POEQ games while working with youth. As a result we foresee to create and test at least 4 POEQ games in the local community of Terrassa/ Barcelona as well as create a resource manual for youth workers and youth leaders to use when working with soft skill development. Equipping participants with such tools will enable youth organizations to take innovative action in their programmes and services offered as well as raise the awareness about importance of soft skills.
