This youth exchange is created by the need to address the recognition of the performing arts value as a tool for personal development, as a tool for social change, as a communication tool and as a means and way of earn a living. The young artists who have developed this project agree on that it is very common, during the development of their professional careers as artists, find yourself with devaluations of your work. They tell us examples like: “Could you perform for free at my partner's birthday party? She loves the break” or “Do you want to get paid that money for 5 minutes of dancing?”. All of us are clear about a plumber or an electrician who comes home has an education training and knowledge which will allow them to make repairs or installations that must be paid but when we talk about art it becomes a bit obtuse and the awareness is very low. With this project we will work with artists so they can be the ones who understand and act as bulwarks of this need of changing around their own work. We will work on how to value all training, all the practice hours, all the trips, the rehearsal hours, the material purchased and a long list of aspects so the population understands one thing: behind any scenic performance or artistic work there is a daily dedication and many hours of training and work. To add more value to art we will also work on how to value its potential of social changing and personal development. Art communicates through emotions which increases the power of the message that is been expressed and makes the viewer empathize. All of this makes the art an ideal instrument for reporting situations of social inequality. Another reason that will work in the art appreciation is its potential as a tool for personal development. It is scientifically proved that the study of Fine Arts, from an early age, cultivates in the human being a sensitivity which leads the person to develop a very solid ethic on the adult life. Music for example, helps us to concentrate, literature develops our thinking. Drawing, painting or construction, theater and dance promote teamwork and the consequent awareness for the assimilation of values such as solidarity, respect for cultural diversity, tolerance, cooperation and the valuation of distinct identity. This demonstrates scientifically that practicing art makes us persons more democratic and inclusive citizens. The general objectives of this project are: • Create a network of work between 6 European countries which will be the house to a platform which will overturn educational and work opportunities for young artists through an online platform. • Explore the art as a tool for both personal and professional education, emphasizing employability within the sector and especially in entrepreneurship, creating during the exchange 6 proposals for self-employment / companies and developing each participant a personal brand strategy. • Generate strategies and methods to support, accompany and develop the artistic interests of young people so they can use art as a development tool, emphasizing the communication potential of art within multicultural environments as it will be in this project (especially in the reporting of situations of social exclusion and promotion of inclusion). We will do these things through personal and individual creations of our participants and follow-up activities.
