Objectives

"Seminar Contact for European Solidarity Corps" is a contact seminar project in key action 1 - Mobility youth workers, with the main objective of creating a working network among European organizations participating in the European Voluntary Service (EVS) to develop new collaborations within the framework of the European Solidarity Body (CES) and take advantage of the new opportunities offered by the new project in both the "Practices and Employment" sections. The main objective of this project is to establish new contacts and create a working group between organizations involved with youth work and with experience in the area of volunteering (SVE) to explore the possibilities of future collaborations for CES the Future projects. In the context of the Erasmus + program, the City Council of Alzira is aware that some activities supported so far by the EVS have fallen under the aegis of the ESC. This implies facing the change in the general framework and in the specific adjustments of this type of international mobility. Therefore, the project addresses our need for a better understanding of how CES works and allows us to have a smoother transition by supporting and providing a space for other youth work organizations that face the same questioning. We want to explore new ways of collaborating under this new umbrella that is larger than the SVE given the introduction of the new professional thread (paid apprenticeships and work contracts) for missions in sectors related to solidarity. In fact, the first CES projects have been launched but without fully developing their full potential. In addition, we have to explore the novelty of the multiplicity of funds available to CES. In fact, it is foreseen that 8 different European Union grants may be mobilized including Erasmus +, and some organizations may face difficulties in adapting to this, due to the lack of knowledge of the framework of other funds. Therefore, we see the importance of bringing together municipalities with experience in this variety of funds, with non-profit organizations mainly focused on Erasmus +. This Project will bring together 11 partners from 11 different countries, all involved in the field of volunteering and youth work. The result of this seminar, in which we will analyze in detail the possibilities of the CES will be a good opportunity for the exchange of ideas and good practices of projects developed so far in the framework of EVS and will be the basis to develop ideas and thus put in practice future CES projects including the areas of employment and practices. The city of Alzira and most of the partner organizations share the same problems with young people in their territories, therefore with this contact seminar we seek to strengthen our partner organization networks within Europe, develop projects that promote inclusion and the employability of young people with fewer opportunities (including NEETs), and addressing the issues of low language skills, limited job opportunities and the misalignment of personal skills with respect to what is demanded by the labor market. We do everything possible to keep abreast of the opportunities offered by the European Commission, we know the importance of not only solving the growing youth unemployment, we must also make sure that young people get the right skills, and are able to anticipate changes in the market. work. Also, we are aware that 88% of young people who have never volunteered abroad say that they have not done so due to lack of opportunities. Only 6% of them could experience volunteering abroad (Eurobarometer 408). Therefore, we believe that the development of projects of the European Solidarity Corps as well as SVE could provide socially-minded youth with more accessible opportunities to participate in useful activities in the community by acquiring useful experience and new skills (especially the 10 "Soft Skills "which are the interpersonal skills required today by the business world). Finally, creating more of these opportunities for young people will also improve their social, civic and intercultural capacities, and promote intercultural dialogue. Undoubtedly, limited education and employment opportunities can be the causes of radicalization, and we want to contribute to the promotion of a global, open and resilient society by developing new projects increasing citizenship and the common values of freedom, tolerance and non-discrimination .
