Objectives

Rural Circus Lab II is an initiative born from the growing links between the different organizations that are associated in the project, giving rise to a youth exchange that will take place in June 2019 in the Monegros region. The activities will be carried out in the ARTmosfera artistic complex where 24 young people from Germany, Italy, France and Spain will participate for 11 days, brought together by their passion for the scenic arts, particularly the circus. The main objective of this project is to increase the knowledge of performing arts among young people by establishing values such as respect, equality, and tolerance with the potential to generate a cultural impact in the Monegros region. The project is oriented at young people who have an interest in performing arts belonging to organizations from different countries and practicing different circus disciplines. The aim is not only to develop physical fitness and motor skills but also creativity and diverse social skills such as communication, empathy and cooperation. The activities will be based on the methods of non-formal education, in a continuous, horizontal and non-directed process. The main activities will consist of initiation workshops to different circus disciplines: aerial arts, juggling, balance and stage presence; as well as debates and talks about the reality of the performing arts in each of the participants’ country of origin. The last day of the project the young people will present the techniques developed during the youth exchange, in the town of Robres, since the Town Hall has shown interest in collaborating on the project. After completing the project, all the audiovisual materials generated during the project will be compiled for dissemination. Promoting creativity, exercise and self-awareness through circus acrobatics can guarantee interest and increase in healthy lifestyles in the medium and long-term among young people. The project is supported and co-financed by the Town Hall of Robres, Grañen City Council, Malabaristas de Zaragoza Association, Huesca Social Circus, and Zaragoza Social Circus.
