Carrying out the project "Art and ecology" we want to value the conservation and protection of nature, the environment in which we live and use art as a tool to activate ecological awareness among young people and the rural population in general. Organizing a youth exchange on the topic Art and ecology in the Vega of Granada offers several opportunities for young people. It helps them to open up for new experiences, new horizons, meet young people from other countries and lose their fear of the unknown. During the youth exchange they will be able to exchange experiences with young people from other countries, and experience the European solidarity acting together in favor of the environment, a European issue of high importance. We also invite young people from Morocco, our neighboring country, to give a more global vision to the issue of environment and to combat prejudices among young people from Andalusia and other European countries. At the same time this project allows the participants to know better their natural environment, the natural heritage of the Vega of Granada and learn to value it and protect it better. They will acquire skills to use art as a tool for environmental awareness, an attractive form of youth participation. With the presence of an international group, the involvement of the inhabitants of the two municipalities in the project and the public presentation of the results of the exchange, we also want to promote a change of attitude in the population, a greater acceptance of people from other countries and an increasing interest in other cultures and people from other countries, as well as a greater awareness of the value of their natural heritage and a greater involvement in caring for the environment.
