Objectives

The idea of inclusion of this project is that young people learn not only how to work for the inclusion of newcomers but together with them, at the same time they get empowered, active and visible in their new communities. "Hand in Hand" aims to build bridges between hosting communities and newcomers from the younger generations. For this reason, this project will include young people with different cultural backgrounds and it will give them the ground to work and learn together and share experiences. Meeting diversity helps to break stereotypes and fight discrimination and also it is what enrich us. The specific objectives are: - Intercultural exchange: it is important they discover the richness of the diversity by exchanging experiences and learning from each other, and they will have experiences together, cooperation to get common goals, deep reflections, etc. For that, it is essential they learn how many similarities of identity are between them (interests, values, attitudes, etc.) as well as they can see the cultural differences as something beautiful and enriching. - Raise the knowledge about the situation of newcomers, explore and reflect on concepts of identity, culture, stereotypes, prejudices, intolerance, discrimination, Human Rights, interculturality, fanaticism, etc. through dynamics based on experience and active participation, but also with activities for cooperation and creat common outputs. - Develop communication and digital skills as well as overcome linguistic barriers. Language is not the only way to communicate, sometimes we can say more through actions, art... - Empower and enable them to know how to create their own activities and workshops with an intercultural approach. - Develop a commitment to the inclusion of migrants and refugees in their communities, promoting the culture of peace. Therefore, it is important they get confidence and sense of initiative in order they will be able to get involved actively in their communities. Here, it is essential to give the chance to young migrants and refugees, so then they can feel they have an important role in their new life. - Provide an official recognition of their gained competences through YouthPass. Introduce the methods and benefits of non-formal education and provide them with information about the opportunities of training and education, they have in Erasmus+.
