Recently we are all being witnesses of hate crime violence, discrimination, homophobia, immigration, unemployability, and a lot of other issues that are mainly rooted by the lack of awareness and knowledge of Human Rights. Each day differents kind of populism are attacking the multicultural factor of a society and representing the minories as a problem. Above mentioned issues cannot be resolved by any one country acting alone. Therefore we as a youth and active members of our societies we decided to come up with the idea of the project. We feel that the multicultural background of a society it is a richness source and we want to show it using the folk as a tool. Using the folk the yougnsters and the hosting society will learn that to be able to learn from differents cultures it is a great adventage and it is not a problem. What can we do to prevent a violence in our communities against the minorities and raise awareness about it? “Folk” stands for one of the effective methods to share the richness of the multicultural factor. The participants will be teacher and apprentices at the same time because they will experience the teaching process of their own folklore and learning from the others. During this process they will learn about the respect to the differents traditions and there will be a intercultural dialogue which will affect to the local people. Through folklore, we show to the audience and the participants the intercultura dialogue and the multiculturalism from a positive point of view. ‘’FOLKore for the future’’ is aimed to create a form of spectacle where people become active and they explore, show, analyze and transform the reality which they are living. The idea behind it is that everyone has the capacity to learn from the different and to teach them sharing their cultural background. The participants will practice differents kind of folkroe aiming to facilitate community dialogue on social issues, involving the audience in the search for transformative actions. We as people who will apply this method during the project don’t want to insist on a concrete issue that will be addressed through folklore. Moreover, we want to give a space to our participants to identify all issues that exist in their communities relationated with the minorities and choose the most relevant issue for themselves, local community to reflect about and raise the awareness on the stage. So the project idea is not only about speaking up through folklore but going deep into Human Rights from the perspective of the participants and Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We think that the youth is very powerful and we believe this youth exchange will have a big impact on our target motivating them and providing with proper methods to act on local levels. During our youth exchange, we’ll explore different forms of folklore: dancing, singing, performing, playing instruments.... Also, we’ll get skills to create performances, act on stage, build a team, share ideas and learn from those participants who will be professional or semi-professional in performing. The aim of the Youth Exchange is the social inclusion of youth and local people to address the issues in their communities putting seeds of empathy and solidarity with others and a commitment to support those whose human rights are under threat. It will empower the youngsters to use Folklore in their own communities to promote and safeguard human rights both locally and globally. The project idea is not just speaking up through folklore but going deep into Human Rights issues. We’ll discuss and speak about different issues and will choose the ones that are most relevant in our communities to reflect about and raise the awareness on the stage. We find ERASMUS+ one of the best platforms to implement art projects, addressing different issues in our society. In other words combining two key objectives: theatre and Human Rights. We want to see all minorities, refugees, participants with fewer opportunities, queer people as complete members of our society. In a world where attitudes are so difficult to change, we need a language that reaches through. In our case it’s the forum theatre is the language that will unite all of us being different but having the same goal: to speak up and stand for the rights to those who are not Objectives:. To bring Folklore into our lives; To link Folklore with human rights issues and education; To promote human rights and act both locally and globally; To foster the ability to recognize human rights violations; To create artistic performances to address different issues participants would like to raise; To involve locals to act in the Folklore creating a link between participants and local people; To develop exchanging atmosphere between countries and participants from the relevant places; To foster intercultural dialogue between participating countries; To empower youth to speak up and resolve issues in their societies
