The participants wanted to improve their professional skills as well in theory and in practice. This would help everyone working in the school daily. We have many immigrant students and preliminary high school students, with whom English is the communication language, though the teaching language in our school is Finnish. It is very important to communicate with this group of students by using English.
The upper secondary school of Hatanpaa situated in Tampere, Finland, applied this project for the need of education of the school stuff: teachers and management. All participants wanted to learn and refresh their language as well as their professional skills. The organization was given a national task of music by the Finnish National Agency for Education in 2018. The teachers involved in musical education wanted specially develop their professional skills. There are many students that are near social exclusion studying in the school. The teachers tutoring them to go on, wanted to develop their special needs in the fields of profession, too. The management is supporting and encouraging the teachers and other members of the school stuff. The management skills needed updating especially in the field of assess. The number of students will be growing and some of the teachers are getting to retirement near future. The new personal will be hired. Because of these actions more education is needed. The curricula was reformed in 2021 and according to that the possibility of each student to get international experiences.
