Objectives

Through this KA1 project we wanted to benefit the school on a long-term basis and hoped to gain both practical and theoretical tools to enhance pupils' emotional and communicative skills. Together with Yhteispeli project our goal was to make some permanent changes to the daily practices and routines of the school. As the new national curriculum strongly emphasizes the so called 21st century skills, by participating in courses that support the goal of the KA1 project we intended to create good conditions for not only generating an advanced school but implementing the new curriculum as well.

Background

Puistola comprehensive school is internationally oriented and eager to develop both the expertise and the functions of the school. We believe that the impact of international courses and training strongly benefit, not only the members of staff taking part in the project but the entire staff, the student base and through the school the local community as well. The goal of the KA1 project was to find new ideas and tools for boosting both collaboration and teamwork skills as well as communication skills of our pupils. In the academic year 2019-2020 our school was selected to participate in Yhteispeli project, which is a project designed for enhancing pupils’ emotional and communicative skills. The project was developed by National Institute for Health and Welfare and University of Tampere and is coordinated by Finnish National Agency for Education. Through the carefully selected courses included in the KA1 project we wanted to add to the competence and proficiency provided by Yhteispeli project, aiming to benefit the entire student base.
