Objectives

The aim of our project was to develop the assessment culture and learning and assessment methods of our school. Our project supported the development work that we had been actively worked on in our work community even before our Erasmus+ project. School management is being actively developed at Kaarila school. One focus area was to develop the activities of the team organization. We developed activities in the direction of participatory management. The aim was to involve the entire staff in development work. We wanted to get our entire work community to consider the assessment of learning from the perspective of the current curriculum and and to develop teaching and assessment to be more student-centered. Our co-teacher model has become established for the use of grades 5-6. The objectives of the project were highlighted in the planning and implementation of co-teaching. We wanted to develop operating models to take into account the involvement of students in both assessment and the organization of teaching.

Background

Kaarila school applied for the Erasmus+ project to develop a more unified and diversified assessment culture in our school. Assesment has also been a long-term theme in our school's curriculum. The aim for longer term has been to diversify the teaching methods and assessment ways of our school staff and to make pupils a visible part of the learning and assessment process, as required by the curriculum. Behind this project, our team has had a growing desire to develop our assessment culture and school.
