Objectives

Through this project we aimed to help teachers improve their language skills and bilingual teaching skills and to aid professional development in specific topics. Also a goal was to find new cooperation partners for staff and organisational cooperation in the sciences.

Background

The school had grown with 180 new students between 2016 and 2018 and growth continued. The increase in the number of upper secondary had also increased the number of courses and the number of new teachers, some with no previous experience of bilingual teaching. The introduction of the Science and Technology stream meant that the motivation and capability level of students in sciences had increased. This has raised the demands from the science teachers both in their teaching and the projects and activities offered to the students. The upper secondary school and its teachers started preparations for the new upper secondary curriculum in spring 2019 which was completed spring 2021 and implementation started autumn 2021 (LOPS2021). This has brought new courses and topics which teachers needed training in. The project originally consisted of one job shadowing activities in the UK and three courses in France, Italy, and the UK.
