We wanted to achieve the following objectives by implementing the project: 1. Take eLearning, eGuidance and ePCDP (Personal Comptence Development Plan) as a part of the work placement abroad. 2. Build a local unit about working in an international environment and study it as a part of the work placement abroad. 3. Educate foreign work placement instructors to the current needs in guidance and evaluation of work placements. 4. Gain new international guiding teachers and staff to guide and evaluate the students' work placements. 5. Teach practical and international skills to students and staff for them to gain better professional skills and competence to work in an international environment.
The project arises from Mercuria's strategy, focusing on the development of certain strategic points: customer-oriented approach and pedagogy, cooperation with the working life, internationalization, career coaching, improving the well-being of students and staff, stable economy and competent staff, and ensuring the quality of processes. Internationalization is one of Mercuria’s key points. With the help of the project, we can better enable the work placements abroad for all students studying the vocational qualification in business administration. Both students and staff learn professional, international, digital, and lifelong learning skills through the project. The operational environment is in a change. International skills have become a more and more important part of the professional skills of students and staff as Vantaa city becomes more international due to growth of airport and Aviapolis, and the growing number of immigrants. At the same time digitality has become a more important part of learning than ever and co-operation between companies and schools tightens. This project also answers to all of these currents needs.
