The goal was to build international networks, offer on-the-job learning opportunities abroad, develop language and cultural competences, use technology effectively and bring international know-how back to our school and our region in Finland. The mobility periods also enhance the students' employability, problem-solving abilities and dealing with uncertainty. The project made international operations a part of daily life in our school and encouraged individuals to participate in international activities both in Finland and abroad. In addition, the organisation aimed to develop its operations and continue organising international events and mobilities even better in the future.
POKE vocational college is located in Northern Central Finland. Our units are located in four small towns and there are about 2500 students and 230 staff members. Our organisation sees international activities as an important part of vocational education. Our plan is to develop our international operations further by offering opportunities for international mobilities, co-operation and projects for our students, staff, partners and working life in our region. Erasmus+ projects are a tool for reaching these goals.
