Objectives

The focus of this project has been to raise the competences of our personnel through professional European training courses. This through participation in various European training courses, by strengthening new competences in order to be able to work towards new development goals. Our organisation had a goal of raising quality by raising the communicative competences of the personnel. We wanted to gain new working and teaching methods, new coaching techniques both for individual and team development. We also wanted to achieve new meeting procedures and a common language to allow for reflection and sharing, leading to greater understanding and motivation among our personnel. Our intention was also to achieve joint learning possibilities, creating a unified voice to guide the activities of personnel and the whole organisation. We also needed to achieve a plan for how to involve our personnel more closely in the evaluation in order to increase the learning process. We also wanted to extend and deepen our cooperation with stakeholders within education, public institutions and labour market. Furthermore our goal was to become more aware of the processes of marginalization and exclusion as well as deepen and extend our European network.

Background

Kvarnen Joint Municipality, which is an adult education organisation, has applied for this project with the long-term goal to have dedicated, well motivated and professional personnel. Our organisation needed teachers who are professional in teaching adult, both young adults as well as seniors. It was of course equally important that we have qualified administrative personnel (managers, study coaches, counsellors; ICT) who have knowledge of coaching and guidance of students with complex needs and challenges. We also had the need of leaders with vision and knowledge to develop our organisation in the European context by co-operation and networking with other European organisations, schools and personnel. We also had the need to learn from other organisations and institutions and gain from "best practices" abroad in order to become more professional and more international with new tools for teaching, coaching, guidance and leadership. Taking part in Erasmus mobility courses was our way of fulfilling the above mentioned needs and goals, which also are equal to our organisational development goals.
