Objectives

The goal was to learn from experiences of peers, such as reaching new students and how to organize lessons. In addition, the aim was to improve the skills of teachers in their own subjects and hence to improve the quality of teaching and guidance of part-time teachers.

Background

Porin seudun kansalaisopisto works in the field of liberal adult education in Satakunta region. The mission of the centre is to encourage citizens to engage in lifelong learning and active citizenship. The centre organizes courses in the towns of Pori and Ulvila. This project was the first step to Europe for Pori Region Adult Education Centre. The objective was to launch internationalization and join the European networks. The project aimed at collecting good practices in European institutions working in field of adult education. By getting a perspective on our own work and activities, it was possible to see more clearly the future development needs and our own strengths.
