The common idea of the participating study centers was the desire to develop their own activities, to find collaborators from all over Europe and to strengthen the participants' skills. All study centers that have experience with a mobility project understand its benefits. Regarding the courses, we started to strengthen competence, especially in the different methods of adult education, the trainer's guiding skills, strengthening the language, and the utilization of cultural competence and art forms. In job shadowing mobilities, we wanted to gain experience in the practices of different countries, e.g. on the development of immigrants' integration education and non-formal adult education. In addition, we hoped for tools and different perspectives and approaches for developing and supporting digital skills, cultural activism and active citizenship in our own study centres.
KSL - opintokeskus has already coordinated the corresponding ERASMUS+ KA1 consortium project in previous years with good success in cooperation with the Kansalaisfoorumi and the Opintokeskus Sivis. Maaseudun sivistysliitto also had experience from a previous similar project. These projects ended up with good results in good contacts and many new development ideas. During the previous project, participants also raised a question about what they would perhaps do differently if given the opportunity. Also then, the course attendees made interesting contacts all over Europe, which they wanted to use in the future for e.g. Job shadowing mobility. So, in addition to strengthening the skills of the personnel, we wanted to bring new, experience-based content to our own field of work, deepening the contacts that had already been made.
