Objectives

Erasmus+ programme brings lots of opportunities for youth organizations and organizations active in the field of youth to enhance their portfolio and impact with international cooperation. The international dimension increases scope of organization’s work, bringing diversity to their communities and a positive change in the perception of international cooperation, european topics and overall attitude of youth towards the EU. Such cooperation is highly valued by many organization in Europe who are in need of expanding own partner network with colleagues from various countries in order to plan long-term cooperation in the frame of Erasmus+ and other programs. In the South-West Finland, there are 27 cities of different sizes, some of the cities are quite small and do not have any experiences and capacity in International youth work. Although there is a strong will towards international youth work. That is why the youth workers of the South-West Finland crated an international team. The purpose of the team is to promote international youth work in the cities of South-West Finland. The idea to organize a contact-making seminar arose from this particular network. Turku Youth Services takes cooperation seriously and has experience in developing and implementing international projects within Erasmus+ and we know how important and difficult sometimes is to establish a fruitful long-term cooperation. Based on this we have developed a contact-making event that will gather youth organizations and organizations active in the youth field from Programme countries to exchange best practices and establish long-term cooperation within Erasmus+ and other European programs. Erasmus+ has potential to be connecting people, organizations, communities and Europe as a whole and it is important for organizations to use this opportunity from a impact and quality perspective. With this project we are seeking to address the next issues: - Organizations lacking trustful long-term project partners; - Organizations lacking experience in developing and meintaining long-term international partnerships; - Youth workers & youth leaders lacking an international partner network to establish and maintain long-term cooperation; This CME will bring together two types of organizations: 1. Organizations with experience and developed international partnerships; 2. Organizations with local experience in the youth field and interest to expand their participation at a European and international level. The CME aims to enhance the quality of cooperation within KA1 of Erasmus+ projects through exchanging best practices of local work, building trust among organization representatives and developing common cooperation plans among organizations from programme countries of Erasmus+. The CME sets next objectives: - to exchange best practices of youth work based on the experiences of local and international activities of partner organizations; - to promote quality-oriented and need-based international cooperation among youth NGOs; - to foster mutual understanding of impact that Erasmus+ projects can bring on various levels; - to foster long term collaboration between EU organizations in the framework of Erasmus+ - to provide space for developing new quality partnerships between organizations from Programme countries, to increase the capacity of youth organizations in managing KA1 projects; - to develop need-based ideas for international projects under the erasmus+ Programme. - to develop structures and support measures for quality partnership of youth organizations; With this training we are seeking to both develop competences of youth workers/leaders as well as increase the capacity of organizations to work internationally from a quality and impact perspective. The proposal is in line with quality improvements in youth work and capacity-building of organizations to work internationally. The CME satisfies the needs of participating organizations and youth workers and youth leaders to enhance their professional network in order to exchange practices and create projects with a wider impact on an international level.
