We are a group of Finnish and Greek young people. We want to learn and exchange information about food, sports and youth culture. There are 14 Finnish and 14 Greek young people in our group and four instructors, two from both countries. Young people aged 13-17 are both girls and boys from both countries. Finnish young people come from a small municipality, Rautjärvi, Greeks, a little bigger town, Thessaloniki. We are organizing a youth exchange that we will take in Simpele, at the Pitkäjärvi Activity Center on May 24-29, 2019. In the exchange, we will learn about the youth and music cultures of both countries by organizing one music competition and getting to know how eoung people spend their free time of both countries by spending both Greek and Finnish evenings and participating in the Finnish youth evening at youth house. We will get to know about both countries food culture by preparing traditional foods from both countries and learning to accept different and strange flavors by organizing a “cook war” combining the dishes of both cultures. This is how we learn to taste new flavors. We learn about sports culture from both countries' traditional games and ways to practice sports. English language skills improve because we use English as a common language. We learn to deal with things with 'new eyes' and through our activities we learn from each other's cultures. Organizations can learn from each other good practices and practices
