Objectives

By bringing together group of people working on a project addressing equality, tolerance and diversity. These topics are very powerful philosophical concepts which demand the highest dedication when addressed and we live at a time when the ideas behind these concepts are either taken too lightly, with sheer disregard or ungracefully for granted. With the outcomes resulting in division, race-based hate and ethical discrimination. It is these effects that in turn have created division not only in other parts of the world but also in Europe, in our own house (figuratively written) and because of that the very foundations on which the European Union was built are endangered, the very ideals for which every European calls herself/himself a such are at stake. This is the reason why we chose to address these topics at this time, it is because we can delve seriously into the current issues, the offered solutions, the reasons and motives for where we are and why we are there and how we can change the current status quo. It is because the project leaders and some of the participants already know each other and respect each other that we believe we will be able to create a powerful learning experience for every participant. By implementing this project we aim to help and provide the necessary conditions for every young participant to gain a better understanding of the current issues relating to equality and cultural diversity. We aim for every youngster participating in this project to gain a better and broader understanding of how his/her peers from other cultures perceive the ideas of diversity and equality and to allow for every youngster to express his/her views in regards to these topics. The objectives of this project are: To create a zone for learning processes and growth through which the participants would be able to gain a deeper understanding of what equality is and what we can do to spread it around us, to learn how diversity should be cherished, to learn self confidence and self expression. For the participants to gain a deeper and more knowledge and fact based understanding of the status quo in Europe and the world relating to equality and cultural diversity. To come up with ideas about potential projects and activities for after the project, which would be aimed to combat these issues at the local level, among the participant’s peers in their local communities.
