Objectives

We all agree that the youth exchange and cultural knowledge among young people can build their self-esteem, learn them to take responsibility, work together and make a difference in their own and other youth´s lives. We also believe that, the youth exchange will have an impact on the cultural scene of Roma youth. We are developing a diversity workshop through music or facilitating an intergroup dialogue and looking for ways to engage our participants and work toward bringing the stories of individuals by sharing information on their ethnicity and background (The Root). The participants themselves constitute the richest source of learning. The role of youth workers is to accompany the learning process and provide resources and knowledge to strengthen concepts, techniques, etc. The program will be set up in a manner that everyone feels worth equal, even if different. The program is also set in a cultural sensitive manner. The role of youth workers is to encourage, activate, accompany the learning process and provide resources and knowledge to strengthen concepts, techniques, etc. This is a very important learning experience for the youth. Without Erasmus+ Youth Exchange these youth would not have the possibility to learn, travel and meet each other. They want to get all the opportunities and experience from the youth Exchange that is possible. To do together is the most important thing to learn and get to know one-self and others. Together they will explore their culture, go back to the roots, and so feel proud of “whom they are and where they come from”. Even if there is Roma people from both countries attending the exchange, they are very different in most aspects, but they have music in common. Therefore, it has been very rewarding for them to get to know Roma people and cultures in Spain; it applies to the other immigrant youth attending the exchange. All the youth are from minorities that faces racism and marginalization. Even if we are different, our co-operation has worked excellent and working together we all see, how we are different, but also the same. We are all humans with our needs; to be seen as individuals and respected as such. We take therefore the youth with in everything, so they feel this is their project and takes pride in it. We believe that the realization of this exchange, together with the work done by the young people and all people involved in it, will have a big impact on both the young Spanish and the Finnish youth, since it is the first time that they participate in such an activity. We hope to achieve the planned objectives after the realization of this exchange. We all also hope that afterwards we can carry out and continue our Friendship, do music and give these youth the sense of have opportunities. OBJECTIVES: - Provide to young people tools able to develop their social skills (active listening, empathy, expressing themselves in public, working in groups and in networks). - Provide the youth with tools to explore their culture and be proud of it and so enhance their self-esteem. - Breaking prejudices and hate speech between collectives inside and outside the same culture and different ones. - Value the cultural heritage of each country through folklore, music, etc. from a vision of belonging to the European Union. - Promote European mobility and the participation of young people belonging to groups at risk. - Use music as a means of universal and cultural communication for promoting mutual knowledge, understanding and learning and to overcome language barriers. The mission of this project is to support young people´s life choices and their sense of responsibility as well as to increase their participation. In the first place this means creating the space for moral and ideological growth; secondly it means facilitating their skills, motivation and experiences in civic interaction, and thirdly it means shouldering responsibilities for young people`s social risks and place in society. This is exactly what youth exchange provides the youth, giving the youth responsibilities, safe environment to grow and get new friends and explore different cultures as well as get to know one owns root and culture. This Project and its results will also be on different platform, social media and recordings, in that manner the youth themselves can spread their outcomes among their peers. The participating organisations both will have different events and meetings with the outcomes of the youth Exchange. One of the objectives, that the youth improve certain skills. We want the youth to achieve following Key Competences according to the Youth Pass: 1) Communication in mother tongue 2) Communication in foreign language 5) Learning to learn 6) Social and civic competences 8) Cultural awareness
