Omnia wanted to provide opportunities for its staff and students to experience themselves, how vocational education and internships are done outside Finland. When staff members experience, how things are taught or done in their sector of work or teaching abroad, it widens their perspective and gives them new ideas. It also helps them reflect their working conditions and with different ones and grow work satisfaction. Networking with people abroad makes them more confident at using English and more aware of their professional identity than by just staying in relatively safe and familiar home organisation. We want to grow both staff and students multicultural skills and participating in international mobilities is one of the most effective way of doing it.
Omnia applied this project to enable internationalization of staff and students. Omnia is an experienced organisation in international affairs and recognises the value of international networking of staff members as well as internships of students. Both enrich the experience world of the participants and grow global understanding between people.
