Objectives

The mobility period abroad is unique experience to grow more independent and to gain work experience aboard, especially this reflects on out targe group, students with special needs. SNE students do not always find it easy to break out from familiar surroundings. With good preparation, encouragement and support persons on the spot we are able to offer our students once lifetime experiences, and perhaps even the first touch for travelling abroad. By this project we wanted to continue the yearlong partnerships and also seek for new possibilities, for example TELMA students (prevocational students aiming for work and independent living skills), also we aimed to send individuals for 3–5-week periods. One consistent aim also is to send students to new partner schools. To guarantee quality in the student mobilities preparatory visits should take place before sending the students. Strategic goal also is to ensure future mobilities and enrich possibilities in various study fields. Staff mobility is a way to enhance the professional development of the staff. Short staff mobility and longer two-week working life periods abroad increase the competence of the staff, the reflection of their own activities and open up new opportunities for cooperation.

Background

Luovi has accreditation for mobility, and both student and staff mobility are part of Luovi's strategy. The Erasmus program is a key funding channel for mobility. We want to offer students the opportunity to internationalise through a mobility period and staff to have international experience as part of professional development.
