Students applying for the mobility period had to be marketed separately in this challenging corona situation. Interested students were first invited to attend an international coaching day, which was organised individually as needed in an online environment during the academic year. The student, together with the international coordinator and the supervising teacher, then chose the destination and professional content for the period. The mobility period was conditional on the student having made adequate progress in his/her studies, the recommendation of the supervising teacher for the exchange and sufficient English skills. During the periods, particular attention was paid to safety and the needs of students when sick with Covid-19 disease during the mobility period. At the end of the period, the student reflected on his/her learning in a feedback discussion with the international coordinator and the supervising teacher, where formal learning was recognized and acknowledged. The informal learning was also taken into account in the reporting for the next mobility periods. After graduation, students who had been on a mobility period have a better chance of continuing their studies and of getting a job that requires language skills.
SATAMOVE 6 mobilities continued the good practices of previous SATAMOVE projects. Promoting student graduation and increasing employment opportunities for graduating students in Finland and in the European region by building on what was achieved during the Covid-19 pandemic. Individual mobility periods for students were implemented with long-standing partners and one new and, on a trial basis, one intermediary organisation. Through our Training Agreement all partners are well acquainted with the content and evaluation methods of our study options.
