Objectives

The schools of Chaumont and Langres involved in the first consortium of the Education and Training Basin have collectively gathered and pooled experience and skills. This new application was to develop them and lead new schools in this process of cultural and linguistic openness where the notion of citizenship is predominent. One of the objectives was to offer continuity in the ambitious linguistic and pedagogical training of staff initiated in 2015 with 30 mobilities carried out for Lycée Denis Diderot, Bouchardon vocational high school and Collège les Franchises, then 95 mobilities carried out between 2017 and 2019 for these 3 schools, to which were added Bouchardon General and Technological High School, Diderot Middle School, Charles De Gaulle High School and Eugène Decomble High School. This current project which hosted three more middle schools (Saint-Saëns, Louise Michel and Henri Vincenot) made a request for 163 mobility in its application form. The other objective was to continue and generalize European and international actions to all students in southern Haute-Marne since the consortium brought together all the high schools and five middle schools of the area thanks to a concerted and common approach.

Background

This project is entitled "Beyond borders: Chaumont-Langres continues the adventure of training". For the five middle schools and the five high schools in this consortium, it was a question of continuing the staff training plan initiated in 2015 by the Reims Academy consortium, "Towards the European School Academic Label", which had spread to the schools of the Chaumont-Langres Education and Training Basin in the application "Chaumont and Langres, together towards the European School Academic Label" of 2017. Thus the seven schools involved in the first project were able to develop an ambitious policy of international openness for their students, aimed at increasing physical and virtual mobility and developing oral communication skills in a foreign language, allowing the greatest number of students to benefit from non-linguistic disciplines in English, Spanish and/or German. Based on their experience and concerned about the continuity of the lessons offered to young people in this area, these schools wanted to continue this process and enabled three new middle schools to benefit from their expertise in improving language skills and training staff and students.
