Objectives

With this project, the Academy wished to pursue and intensify its development strategy at European level, to make mobility possible for an ever-increasing number of learners and staff in all territories and to allow a large number of pupils from modest backgrounds to have access to mobility. This project, which followed on from a previous consortium, aimed to increase the participation of beneficiaries, to create new partnerships with companies abroad and to perpetuate those previously conducted, to give a dimension of excellence to the training courses concerned, and to raise the profile of the consortum among all the campus players, the improvement of the qualification of young people and their employability, the standardisation of the use of a foreign language outside the school framework, to instil a European spirit and to give a European vision of the trades and sectors, the questioning of pedagogical and management practices, the decompartmentalisation by the diversification of competences, trades and the contribution of sectors related to textiles, leather and fashion.

Background

The TMCD COME project is an academic consortium bringing together 9 vocational high schools from two academies, Lyon and Clermont-Ferrand. This Erasmus+ project was supported by the Textile Fashion Leather Design campus, whose members are spread over the three academies. It therefore prefigured inter-academic work. By broadening the participation of the trade and industrial equipment maintenance streams in this textile and fashion context, it foreshadowed inter-sectoral work. Its objectives were to guide learners towards the internationalisation of their future profession, which is highly specialised by country in Europe, to place them at the heart of the chain of trades, to reinforce their motivation to continue their studies and aim for international posts, and to place them in a context of linguistic communication to acquire fluency in speaking. The project also aimed to broaden the professional horizons of the staff and to provide them with new skills in terms of pedagogical innovation, since a group mobility of 21 staff was planned in Finland with observation and exchange periods in companies and in professional textile schools.
