The strategic partnership project about innovation links three organisations, Italian, Serbs and French. These three institutions come from aeronautical training. Since 2018, during successive meetings, exchanges have allowed to initiate a project conciliating all participants, id est, the development of a technical glossary in four languages accessible in digital version on smartphone and computer. Through this, it is a question of taking part in the European opening by consolidating a local, regional and even international network. Our aim is to encourage young people to be interested in Europe and the mobility, to renew our pedagogical approaches, to improve the practice of languages, to better train our young people and develop entrepreneurship, to involve young people in their schooling in order to improve their team spirit, their sense of initiative and organisation, and finally, to strengthen cohesion between students as well as between teachers. The participants will be six learners from the different institutions and particularly from the European section in France. They will be involved in building the project throughout their curriculum and contribute to its advancement within courses as well as within mobility. They will be accompanied by two teachers during all activities. In order to make the glossary, activities will be of many kinds. Within each organisation, students will be able to work on CLIL Lessons' vocabulary throughout the 36 months. These will be resources that teachers will exchange in order to innovate their teaching practices and this mastery of vocabulary will enrich the glossary gradually. Regarding the application, France is the super administrator but cooperation with the digital referents of each institution is real and this emulation makes it possible to constantly improve the tool. For the organisation, concertations between the respective steering committees of the three bodies are essential and will be done by several means: by email for sending documents and more official exchanges. WhatsApp is also necessary for more informal and instant exchanges and contributes to affinities. During transnational meetings, a previously defined agenda will allow a rigorous organisation of the planning, objectives, assessments and planned activities in terms of mobility but also development of the glossary application. It is a question of obtaining as final result a functional tool arising from a pedagogical cooperation between learners and European teachers. Indeed, the impacts are local, on our schools and their environment but also on the international level by the improvement of a quality aeronautical training conducted and followed by the learners and the teachers of the three schools. The benefits will be felt in the short term but also in the long term with a European feeling of favored cooperation.
The project is presented as multi-scalar. We wanted to develop a European opening on several levels in each of the countries. Firstly, for the participants, we wanted to offer original activities that would allow them to develop their English and to move away from the national dimension to interact with students of other nationalities. Students from all three countries have developed links beyond the private sphere. Secondly, we also wanted to strengthen our international relationships by working with international collaborators on a regular basis. Confronting and exchanging with our counterparts on a regular basis has strengthened teamwork and renewed our vision of our missions. Finally, we wanted to increase the skills of our schools in order to integrate into our professional practices the ability to develop sustainable European relationships that are beneficial to both students and staff. We wanted our schools to define themselves as European. To do this, it is essential to create an identity through international projects.
The project was part of an overall internationalisation strategy. Our three schools were keen to integrate their school into an opening towards other countries for various reasons: to give meaning to learning so that teaching is not turned in on itself but more directed towards a more current dynamic, to instil in pupils but also in staff the human values so dear to Europe, to develop learners' mastery of the language by multiplying international exchanges, to create links between young people of different nationalities, to awaken professional ambitions in pupils lacking social opportunities, to gain a better understanding of contemporary European issues, and also to go beyond the limits of our borders by taking part in educational activities. Secondly, for the staff and organisations, we were keen to build our international network with European counterparts while developing our capacity to manage this type of project. In this context of pandemics and crises, it is all the more crucial to emphasise human relations through constructive and innovative common objectives.
