Project summary

The broadcasting of information to public displays is developing increasingly in European countries. Four vocational high schools located in tourist areas in France, Greece, Norway and Italy have joined forces around a project to exploit digital screens and billboards for the broadcasting of cultural and tourist information. In each country, the objective is to distribute this information on at least 5 public disply in the partner companies. As part of their training program for their Professional Qualification (Baccalaureate level) on Digital Systems, French and Norwegian students must acquire in their respective training environments, the technical skills necessary for such implementation. The Italian and Greek students, in tourism, economy, marketing and general education sections, learn to plan and describe the richness of their tourist and geographical environments... Bringing these skills together seemed obvious to the teaching teams of the various high schools, already experienced in Erasmus+ mobility for young people or international exchanges. Also, this project, initiated on eTwinning, finds its meaning in the concrete realisation of exchanges and movements of young people from each of the partner high schools. We have therefore organized 4 successive exchanges of students in the 4 partner countries: France, Italy, Norway and Greece in order to achieve the installation and operation of a network of public displays for the broadcasting of cultural and tourist information. Two countries are more specifically responsible for the technical organization: France and Norway since students in these countries are trained in digital systems. The other two countries are more specifically responsible for the cultural and tourist contents, corresponding to the educational fields of the Italian and Greek high schools. Thanks to this collaboration between European schools in collaboration with companies in the partner countries, students develop their linguistic, social and technical skills and their sense of European belonging. Students will also have developed a sense of European belonging.

Final report summary

The dissemination of information on illuminated screens is increasingly present in European countries. Therefore, four vocational schools located in tourist areas in France, Greece, Norway and Italy have joined forces in a project to use digital screens and billboards to broadcast cultural and tourist information. In each country, the objective was to broadcast this information on at least 5 screens in the partner companies. As part of their professional baccalaureate in digital systems, the French and Norwegian students had to acquire the technical skills necessary for such an implementation in their respective countries' classrooms. The Italian and Greek students, in their tourism and general education sections, learn in their respective classes to describe the richness of their tourist and geographical environments. Bringing together these skills seemed obvious to the teaching teams of the different high schools, already experienced in Erasmus+ youth mobility or involved in international exchanges. This project, initiated on e-twinning, also finds its meaning in the concrete realisation of exchanges and travels of young people from each of the partner high schools. We therefore organised a successive trip by pupils to each of the two partner countries: Italy and Greece, in order to achieve the practical implementation of the use of screens and digital display panels to disseminate cultural and tourist information. The Norwegians and Greeks were unable to travel because of the health situation. Therefore, a virtual week allowed the project to continue operating as planned. Two countries are more specifically in charge of the technical organisation: France and Norway, as the students in these countries are trained in the digital field. The other two countries are more specifically in charge of the cultural and tourist contents, corresponding to the fields of training of the Italian and Greek high schools. Thanks to this collaboration between European schools and companies in the partner countries, the pupils have developed their linguistic, social and technical skills and their sense of belonging to Europe.
