Project summary

This is a school exchange project between two classes from different European countries: Jules Vallès School, Vernouillet (France) and Colegio Público Dr. Sanchis Guarner, La Pobla Llarga (Spain). After a correspondence this year, we decided to work together around a common theme: The European Union: its history, its construction and its functioning. We will build together an exhibition on the European Union. Also, through this project, we aim to enable students to live their European citizenship: discover the European Union, interact with the citizens of another European country, discover another country, discover another culture.... The students will exchange throughout the year with the students of the partner school. A school exchange will take place in both countries during this school year: Early on March, French students will go to Spain and the opposite on the end of May 2020.

Final report summary

This school exchange project between two classes from different European countries (the Jules Vallès school in Vernouillet, France, and the Colegio Público Dr. Sanchis Guarner in La Pobla Llarga, Spain) was built to allow students to understand more better the European Union, its history, its functioning and through all this their European citizenship. This project has been strongly impacted by Covid-19 and unfortunately could not go to the end. However, it still made it possible to bring real added value to the students. In fact, the students were able to exchange with other European students, to open up to the diversity of European cultures, of the languages which constitute it and which make the richness of this Union. School learning has been linked to the project to make it more concrete, and this, in many subjects. Concretely, this project has had an impact on students' motivation for work and their involvement in it. This project has also enabled the partnerships between the two schools to be given a greater dimension. The pedagogical practices of the teachers leading the project have greatly evolved on both sides of the Pyrenees, while also impacting the pedagogicals teams as a whole through meetings, joint projects, themeds days... Even without going to the end, this project has made many positive contributions to students, teachers and teams as a whole.
