"Léo Lagrange Centre Est"(France) together with partners "YFW"(Georgia) carried the project "Gender Equality in Outdoor Life", based on gender equality, fight against discrimination & social inclusion thought outdoor education. With this youth exchange, we engaged in a dialogue between 40 young people about gender equality & gender roles in their social environment. We aimed to challenge young people with different perceptions of the role of man & woman in modern Europe & in its history. We see outdoor education as an extremely powerful tool for development, especially within international communities, it allows to question our values & create a bridge between different social groups forming a better mutual understanding. Therefore, most of non- formal education methods were done outdoors and including do a few hiking as a big individual and group challenge. With this approach of combining gender equality topic with outdoor education we aimed:: • To identify and discuss common forms of discrimination against women • To foster a gender-sensitive understanding of currently existing societal models & its inherent forms of discrimination • To prove that an intercultural community based on gender equality is possible • To Challenge the perception of the structures within our society that undermine social inclusion or foster discrimination • To create follow-up initiatives that promote gender equality in the sending communities Overcoming the stereotypes of different religious • To build a broader understanding of what an discrimination means & to start inter cultural & interreligious dialogue
