Nowadays, young people are having hard times finding their place as an individual and as a citizen. They are in a part of their lives which is very complicated, full of changes and all of these can impact their development and also the way they build their reference points. In territories such as those where Terres de Chalosse’s youth department (France) and Cultural Link association (Italie) work, young people get a very restrictive vision of mobility. The ability to project their selves beyond their close environment seems mostly unreachable and even sometimes impossible. Professionals of the non formal education learning and political persons have then chosen to give another start to these young people accompanying them in their mobility learning, giving them the keys to open their selves to the world and also to arouse other young people (to project their selves) into future European opportunities. Disadvantaged by their social, economical and geographical environment, they will get the chance to live this experience where they will create links with others young people. During the project, they will work transversally and be mutually nourished by formal and non formal exchanges. They will be bring into an emancipation process where they will be actively involved and become European citizens. They will not take reference to their local environment, their national prospects or to their cultural daily routine but they will now be in an European dimension that will guarantee them an important place given to their ideas and to build a common view of the place of the youth in the European Union. They will then be able to turn away from a simple idea to go on the road of a more global project pedagogy, to create an intercultural cooperation in various themes (education, leisure, citizenship, living together, youth participation.) and to relay their values and expectations for youth. They will get together their culture, scholarship, leisure time and also their skills to highlight their findings and suggest the resulting solutions. Their stay will be composed of discussions, practical exchanges, simulations and friendly times where they will: - create and use intercultural learning situations - deepen theirs skills of their partner’s country - develop their adaptability - discover the use of non verbal communication forms and then valorise their technical and creative skills - create tools to report their experience - discover others participation forms - identify the expectations and needs that comes from youth of another country. They will learn to exist as an European citizen and to work in order to improve the place given to youth in public spaces.
