The project “Sport without borders” is put in place with the goal of deconstructing national and personal borders. Through sport, young adults learn to expand their network, their competences and to gain confidence through teamwork. We hope that this project can achieve this by combining the aspects of sport and trinational exchange with a european dimension. All the participants will come from Europe, but will bring together different points of view on the subject, depending on the countries. The aim of the project is the development of a sense of european solidarity and the experience of intercultural learning and international exchange. “Sport without borders” will, in this sense, overcome borders on multiple levels. The project is about coexistence disregarding national borders, as well as the surpassing of borders for the personal development of the young participants. These notions come together thanks to and through the practice of sport, which brings together a supranational community of young adults to blossom and become proactive outside of the project. The evolution of team spirit will be the running theme of the project. The mindset which considers multiple aspects is as follows: A sports team is a collective. Members support each other mutually and are also supported in their capacities and talents. Contrary to international tournaments, where different countries compete against each other, the team of participants in our french-german-macedonian project will be multinational - even intercultural. This will turn around the idea of a competition, which, sadly, often represents a notion of hostility. Being part of a collective which fights for valors of intercultural dialogue and a balance in the relation of genders will permit participants to gain confidence and to defend their valors, even outside of team-related situations. Our flag will be that of interculturality, our hymn that of harmony and our motto “Together we overcome borders”.
